Facts about Maxou

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Orange Or Red
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
DOB: May 31, 2012

Maxou is like the handsome, mysterious man in movies who everyone admires but never fully knows. He is a dynamic feline, with many different sides to his personality - from reserved, to playful, to charming - which changes day-to-day.

Max takes a little while to warm up to people, but his trust can be earned with a few cans of wet food. Max prefers his personal space (he's not much of a lap cat), although he highly enjoys joining his human for afternoon naps, or evening cuddles.

He is very cooperative with other cats, especially those with more dominant personalities. In general, Maxou is a very low-maintenance cat who can have fun by himself or with other animals and is just fine spending his days at home alone when his owner is out at work.

Maxou is a master of hide n' seek, with an affinity for hiding between (or inside) clothing. He's been known to slide into coat sleeves and pant legs, surprising his owner when they try to put their clothing on.

Maxou was a rescue from a Quebec shelter.

Maxou is very well behaved with excellent house manners. He very rarely scratches the furniture and only meows when he's hungry. He respects plants and ornamental items around the house, which most cats will try to knock over, accidentally break... or eat.

Our Adoption Process...

Decided on the cat or kitten you would like to adopt? Please call 416-538-8592, or email

An adoption counsellor will return your call and give you more details about the cat you are interested in and ask some questions about your home to make sure the cat will be a "purr-fect" fit. We are happy to answer any questions you may have as well.

You will be supplied with the foster home address to have a meet and greet with your kitty. If both parties are happy, you can sign the TCR Contract of Adoption, pay the adoption fee and take your cat home with you in a safe carrying case.

Adoption fee is $175 per cat. This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. It includes 6 weeks of free pet insurance. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!

1. ALL senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopters choice, vs. our standard adoption fee of $175.

2. Our adoption fee for a bonded pair is $100 per cat, vs. $175 per cat.
