Callie is one of our rescue kitties that we are so impressed with how well she does considering the life style she originally came from!  This pretty girl came to us in very rough shape.  She wasn't able to walk due to the high levels of ammonia in her system but as our volunteers gently and patiently cared for her she started to improve and learn to trust us.  She is still cautious but she warms up once she knows that you won't harm her.  She really loves chin rubs and sunny spots to sleep.  This gentle girl would be wonderful in a home with a calm family.  She is fine with other cats and doesn't seem to mind dogs but would not do well if there was a dog that would try to chase her or bother her.  Please consider adopting this gentle sweet girl and see if she could blossom even more in a home setting.  Adoption applications can be found at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org and as always our adoption fees are free will to approved applicants.

About Emmet County Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

The ECAS is an all volunteer, no kill shelter. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome pets in need due to neglect, abandonment, abuse or from simply not being wanted! We started in 2010 due to a need in our community. We are currently a foster based organization and we are currently building our new shelter facility. We work hand in hand with other rescue and shelters in the area to help out when and where we are needed.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Check out all of our pets online at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org or send in an application to meet a specific pet! Once our shelter is open for operation stop in during our open hours to visit with a fuzzy friend in person.

Our Adoption Process...

All interested parties must fill out an adoption application and be approved prior to adoption. If a family has currently, or in the recent past had pets then a veterinary reference is required. If not then two personal references are required. Our adoption fees for dogs range from $150-$300. Our adoption fee for cats is free will donation. After an adoption has been approved an adoption contract must be signed.
