This beautiful girl is Baby, she is around 8 years old, spayed, micro-chipped, vaccinated, completely housebroken, good with kids, cats and most dogs. Baby is as calm as they come and very quiet; knocking on the door, running a vacuum or blender - nothing can get this little girl to bark. So how did such an amazing pup like Baby end up without a forever home?

Her story is quite sad and this little girl had to go through so much. Baby, with those big brown eyes, had to watch her previous owner walk out of the vet’s office, abandoning her, after her owner told the vet to euthanize her because she had an eye infection and he “didn’t want to deal with it”. Baby’s eye infection simply ended up being "Dry Eye", which is easily treatable with daily medication. But due to being neglected for so long, she will have it for the rest of her life.

Lucky for Baby, a volunteer of Friends of Chicago Animal Care & Control was the vet tech that was assisting the veterinarian and asked for the previous owner to sign Baby over to their care. But poor baby did not know what was going on as she watched her owner walk out the door and
Baby would love to be with a family that is calm and relaxing and is not looking for a high energy dog. Since she did not receive much attention in her previous home, she does not appreciated being picked up. Other than that, she loves spending quality time with people even if that means just hanging out around the house together. She gets along with most dogs, but would be happiest in a home where she is the only dog. She wouldn't mind sharing a home with a cat or two as well. Baby will need someone with a lot of love and patience to help her transition to her new home. This little girl deserves so much love to make up for all the years she was denied it.

Baby is currently living in a foster home in the Chicagoland area. To find out more information or schedule a meeting, please contact her foster coordinator at for an application. Baby's adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued pets of Friends of CACC.
