Here's what the humans have to say about me:
There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them in a high-kill shelter! Hannah, at only 16 weeks old and 17.8 lbs (is estimated to be full grown at about 30-35 lbs), was facing the end of her life before it ever began. Farfel's Texas rescuers are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this puppy...they rescued Hailey just in time.
This sweet and engaging Labrador Retriever/Australian Cattle Dog mix is starting out with great energy...the excellent results of her temperament-testing ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a new life. Hailey is also incredibly beautiful...with the gorgeous markings of gold and fawn that have come out since she received a good, sudsy bath after her release from the shelter.
Hailey is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. She's so smart and very engaging...so typical of a Lab/Aussie mix. She's also bright and so loving...clearly having no memory of her scary start.
Since Hailey is just a puppy, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome companion - she will form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs & humans) and learn positive socialization skills through Puppy Socialization Class followed by positive reinforcement group Obedience Classes. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the world with appropriate behavior.
We're open to Hailey finding her forever home with a very active retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a puppy. Hailey is great with children as well but we would prefer to place her in a home with older kids that can participate in a gentle yet consistent training regimen.
Hailey is up to date on her vetting. After she passed her temperament testing with flying colors, this very sweet and loving girl was brought to the vet to be brought up to date on her shots, spayed and granted a health certificate for her travel to Colorado and a forever family.
Hailey will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 6/10/16. If interested in this super-smart, engaging and fun-loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
