Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This little cutie is Clarence Colgin. If you think Clarence looks more like a Chihuahua than a Dachshund, you'd be right! Recently DREAM rescued Kearton Kabob from a local shelter. Keaton had this sweet, young, blond colored Chi as a "cell mate." When our volunteer arrived to pull the Keaton, she said the Chi virtually clung to her arm and she just didn't have the heart to leave him behind, so we rescued "Clarence too!"
He is a high-spirited young dog with a real zest for life. He's bright, inquisitive and just a tad bit submissive. He is super friendly and gets along well with all dogs and people. He loves to play tug-of-war with his human or with a furry buddy; plus he can also easily entertain himself. After a long day, he does love to cuddle, but he can be ready at a moments notice for a late game of tug-of-war or chase. Since he is a young dog, he is still a work in process on learning house manners such as eating only from his bowl and not others, lights outs means it's time to go to bed and not everything is a toy. He is also learning to walk on a leash. He will pull on the leash a bit, as he has places to go and dogs to meet. If he sees a larger male dog, he can get a bit barky until he knows the dog better. If he sees a pretty female dog, he simply melts while trying to get her attention. He is house broken and will sleep in a crate all night, but the door to the crate has always stayed open.
We're glad we were able to get Clarence out of the shelter! We're hoping to be just as successful at finding him a loving forever family!
