DESCRIPTION: Well helllooo there my potential new family! I am so excited that you stopped by to learn more about me. I HAVE the most adorable green eyes and I have been said to look like a little "gremlin" whatever that means!!! Please be sure to read my ENTIRE bio before going to the website to complete the application at www.cthar.org as I have had a ROUGH start through no fault of my own. I am just a young guy a year or a little less! YEP I am still puppy! So this is the point where if you are looking for a housetrained, obedient, Lassie-type dog...you go ahead and just keep on looking because I am still a young guy who is going to need a lot of patience, training, and time, over the next 6 months to a year to get me to be the dog you always dreamed of! BUT hey that means you can TRAIN me exactly the way you LIKE! To your home. to your schedule, etc. You see, as a young pup, I still need to learn all about what to chew, what not to chew, where to pee, where not to pee, how to walk on a leash, etc! Lucky for you I am a GREAT age, where I am just young enough to still learn everything you ever wanted to teach a dog, and yet old enough that I can hold my potty for a good 6 to 8 hours or so *unlike baby puppies who have to go every couple hours!*. While I am about 10 months to a year old....I have not had a lot of structure in my life. I was taken into the County Pound and then went into foster care as pup of about 6 months or so. I was adopted out to a family with other dogs, but after a few weeks...all the sudden the OTHER dog started being mean to me and he was an older dog and he was going to hurt me because all I wanted to do was love him and play with him!!!!!......so I had to come back into rescue! Therefore, I have had a LOT of change through NO fault of my own, so PLEASE be dedicated to being my forever family. I LOVE other dogs. I LOVE kids. I LOVE all humans so I really need someone to be committed and dedicated to being with me for the long haul. Again, if your schedule is NOT going to accommodate potty needs, please do not waste your time or the volunteers who are helping me find a home time, because I can't help that I have had a rough start/ Being a puppy I will need exercise so that I can wear out my puppy energy...a tired puppy is a good puppy. An active puppy is a good puppy. A bored puppy is definitely NOT a good thing. If you do not find something for me to do, no worries I will find something to do BUT CHANCES ARE what I decide to do is not going to be something you are happy with like if we do not go for a walk, I will improvise and chew your couch. Speaking of chewing and potty things...the BEST way for me to learn will be prevention. In preventing these things proper crate training can be a GREAT tool. Now keep in mind, there is an appropriate way to use the crate so make sure you look up proper crate training and that you are not asking something of me that is not realistic. I will say that in my foster homes, they have been very structured and I have been doing VERY WELL with most things, but they do use a (belly band - google these they are GREAT for dogs that are not yet housetrained especially males who may mark), so you really will want to be sure to come up with a structured schedule/plan for me in your new home so that we can continue on the right path. I really have been said to be a good good boy especially for a puppy with the work that has been started. I also love to go in the car so far, so that is something you will want to continue in my new home. Continuing to keep me well socialized like I am right now will also be important. So to recap, if you are looking for a forever dog, a boy who is young enough to train and who is great with dogs, cats, and kids, and have the time to teach me EVERYTHING I need to know about becoming the great dog that you have always wanted, then I would really love to hear from you. Keep in mind, please complete the application FULLY and HONESTLY because I have already had a rough beginning and it is time for me to finally be HOME. Again the app is at WWW.CTHAR.ORG
