found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
We first met Cookie and her babies at a small rural shelter in Ripley, Tennessee. We frequently go to Ripley to help the animals because no one else seems to go. It's a small county run, cinder-block building where the animals are held until they get sick and die, or until they are euthanized. It's a hell like no animal should endure, and yet we find the most amazing of animals there. Cookie is one of those dogs.
As we walked into the small building and peered into the kennels we were stopped dead in our tracks by Cookie. There she was amongst all the barking, all the crying, nursing and cleaning her puppies. She looked up at us and gave a little wag of her tail. Bless her sweet soul - just trying to be a momma in those awful surroundings. What we didn't know when we said we would take her, was that she had also endured an injury, we think likely was hit by a car and had a fracture of her back leg. This again, just speaks to the amazing dog that Cookie is - in pain, afraid and certainly wanting to protect her babies, she let us pick her up, put her in a kennel and drive her back to her foster home. Not a peep, not a growl - Cookie did her thing and quietly took care of those babies.
Well now it's Cookie's turn. Her babies are all adopted, her surgery is behind her and life is all roses for this wonderful girl. She currently lives with kids, other dogs and a loving foster mom and dad. She is going to make just the best pet and we can not wait to see what life has in store for her.
Cookie's adoption fee is $500 and includes her $1million new and improved fixed leg, spay surgery, microchip, up to date vaccinations, health certificate and transportation from Memphis to your area upon adoption.
