6/7/16. Piccino is a great little dog that came to The Nest from a local animal shelter. He was adopted from there a while back but the owners decided that they wanted a large dog now. Piccino is your typical chihuahua - very feisty, full of attitude, bossy with other dogs but at the same time super sweet and snuggly. Piccino is very small - he weighs about 4 lbs. He is so delicate that he needs a home with NO children under 18. He loves to be with his person and cuddle but is not really clingy. He loves running around in the yard and curl up on a cozy dogs bed. Piccino can be protective of his home and will bark (with the occasional ankle nip) at strangers that walk in the door. Once he meets new people he is just fine. He gets along well with other dogs, he likes to play with dogs about his size. He is fine with cats as long as they don't run from him, then he can be aggressive. For Piccino we are looking for a more quiet and calm home environment as he is easily excitable. We would like a securely fenced in yard. Other dogs are fine as long as it is not more than two. They should be no larger than 15 lbs.
Piccino is neutered, he is current on vaccinations including Rabies, he is on flea/heartworm prevention and he is micro chipped. If you are interested in adopting this little cutie please fill out an adoption application on our web site:
An application has to be filled out prior to setting up a meeting.) Piccino's adoption fee is $200. No children under 18 please.

About The Nest

About Our Rescue Group...

The Nest,is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization. Our mission is to rescue, restore, and re-home animals that come from local animal shelters or from individuals who contact us directly.

We are guided by the following ideals:

We will always place the physical and mental well-being of our animals above our own and that of other individuals, making a constant effort to act as an advocate for the animals we serve.

We will to the best of our ability assist in the care and placement of animals that require our assistance, regardless of breed, age, demeanor, physical or behavioral health, because we believe that all animals at any stage in life and health have inherent value and an important place in the world in which we all live.

We will provide educational support for those individuals who seek our assistance, believing that educating the public is one of the keys to keeping animals in their homes and preventing senseless euthanasia.

We will provide ongoing care and homes for animals we cannot place in adoptive homes, because we believe that animals that make their way to The Nest should be cared for until their last days.
