Rascal was found dodging cars near a country church after having been dropped off there. Apparently the heartless person who dropped him off thought maybe a member of the church would take on the responsibility of a puppy. Well, in fact, one did. A concerned gentleman was afraid Rascal would get hit so he picked him up and made sure he was safely delivered to a shelter.
Rascal was a little skinny, but otherwise healthy, and one lucky boy! He is about 18 weeks old, playful, and very curious about everything. A beautiful Beagle mix, his coloring is gorgeous. He is an active boy who romps around and wrestles with his friends at the foster home and enjoys all the people he meets as well. Rascal is a typical happy-go-lucky puppy and would love a family of his own. He would be thrilled to have a nice, big fenced-in yard so he could chase critters safely all day, then curl up in a warm bed by his family at night.
His foster mom describes him as an active very curious little fellow, full of life and appreciation that he has a good life. Imagine, Rascal was living on his own and learning quickly how to spot potential food. He was equal to a 4 month old child, shocking as that is, we can’t seem to rap that around our mind that a 4 month old child in the wild would have to hunt for food. Alone, his instincts to let others know of approaching animals that might be looking at him as dinner was equal to a child in the wild crying out for help. So, now he is enjoys playing fetch, rolling and tussling with his playmates and they all get along—he loves to thank his mom when he is resting on her lap. I am sure if you look close, you will see a sweet smile of peace on his face.
This adorable guy is looking for a loving family that will dote on him and treat him as he deserves--a lifetime cherished member. Our rescue works from our hearts for our dogs; it is the least we can do for them because they deserve nothing less. We owe it to our dogs that the wonderful people who stand to be the last chapter of their rescue and the first chapter of their new forever lives deserve him.
Rascal is ready to slide right into your heart, do you have the requirements of a forever home of his own and endless love to celebrate his special qualities? Now all he needs is many years where he can continue to be a happy and loyal member of a family. Will you open your heart to him and give him the love he so deserves? In return, his companionship and friendship will be with you every day, rain or shine.
ABOUT THE BREED
ABOUT THE BREED
Beagles are always at the top of the list for family-friendly dogs! They are bursting with energy, great with children because of their smaller size, and always willing to play. Extremely good-natured, they have above-average endurance and make great running dogs for casual runners. They also have a unique individual design making them easy to identify. Beagles come in the classic tricolor markings of white/lemon with patches of black and light brown. They can also be found in just two colors of tan and white. Remember Snoopy … yes a Beagle!
Beagles are happy, gentle, energetic dogs that fit in well with any family. They love to feel like “part of the group,” needing an ample amount of attention and playtime. They also love children, and vice versa, proving to be vigorous but gentle playmates.
Fun loving and neither aggressive nor shy, Beagles have a mild disposition making them great companions. In the 1980’s a study was done that gave Beagles the highest excitability rating amongst all dog breeds. Always lively and wagging its tail, small children will instantly love any Beagle puppy that is brought home. Because they are hounds that love to hunt, they follow their nose, which can be a distraction and are bred to move in packs. This can give rise to howling or baying. It is said that Beagles make great companions to cats and they two get along well. –
Beagles are bursting with bravery and stamina they are all happy wagging tails—can be a great source of fun and activity. Protective of their environments without being aggressive with strangers, Beagles will bark if a suspicious person approaches the house, making them an excellent guard dog.
Known to be among the friendliest of the hound breeds. The best qualities in the Beagle are its fondness for exploring the outdoors and its enthusiasm for trailing. This independent is an incredibly tolerant, calm and adventurously playful dog, the Beagle also makes a perfect pet for families with children.

These dogs deserve all of our attention, and in Rescue Dog Village, we are committed to our adopters and our dogs equally. We offer full disclosure and hope to make the best matches possible. Please know our adoption fees never cover our expenses. We rely on the generosity of our adopters and supporters to help us help the dogs.
Our rescue is ONLY in the business of offering FULL DISCLOSURE to adopters, and expects and hopes to engage your questions and concerns fully. We owe it to the dogs we rescue and all the wonderful families/adopters who might consider welcoming our charges into their hearts and home. Our dogs are waiting for that ideal forever home where they will be cherished as deserving family members. It's sad these second chances are even necessary for these dogs, but we are committed to them and will devote the time and energy to their rehoming, and not just MOVE them to save more dogs. We diligently and responsibly seek good matches as we don't want to re-home the dog again. These animals have already endured more than they should have, and through no fault of their own. It behooves us to be honest and forthright, and we appreciate the same in return from applicants. It's that winning combination of reciprocal trust and respect that allows for successful placements to be made. Happy adopters translate to happy dogs, and that's our goal!
Our rescue volunteers will be more than honored to be in touch with you directly and promptly, after receiving your application and conducting a mandatory a veterinarian check. If you have never owned a dog before, please submit your application regardless, and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible. TAKE NOTE YOU SHOULD CHECK YOUR SPAM AS SOME RESPONSES FROM US WIND UP THERE WE'VE DISCOVERED. Also, take care to contact your veterinarian to let them know a member of rescue will be inquiring about your pet history!
Thank you for respecting that we all donate our time to saving these animals, and understand we value your philanthropic and compassionate desire to help be part of the rescue team. That said, you'll understand why we are committed to the well-being of our charges and consider this veterinarian check mandatory. If you are a first-time dog owner, we will work with you every step of the way! ADVOCACY AND EDUCATION ARE AS MUCH A PART OF RESPONSIBLE RESCUE AS ADOPTION! And it takes a RESCUE VILLAGE to help the most dogs possible in a thorough manner to ensure success on all fronts, and then some! It is an awful feeling to fail a dog, and we can't continue rescue if we don't do everything we can to ensure good matches for the dogs and tender families who might adopt them. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING.
Although we are an extremely small rescue group, we understand and respect your family's eagerness to be in touch and learn as much as you can about the dogs you are considering adopting. Our very experienced and devoted trainer will be happy to share all aspects of OUR RESCUE DOGS to determine compatibility once you've submitted your application, and another of our volunteers will explain the whole process of our rescue and answer any questions you might have as well
If you have the time and love to offer this extremely bright dog who can make you laugh for hours at his antics, PLEASE APPLY TO BE CONSIDERED FOR A RESCUE DOG VILLAGE DOG AND GIVE ONE A HOME.
