Jesse James's Story...
Jesse James: 9 year old neutered male black Lab ~ 80 pounds

Jesse James’s owner died and his children put him on craigslist for free. Someone saw the ad and reached out as she wanted to make sure Jesse was placed in a wonderful home. She called Lab Rescue to see if we could take him into our program. We met Jesse James and knew he was a wonderful dog and we had no hesitation taking him into GGLRR.

Jesse James is a very sweet boy! He was an inside dog, knows many commands and get along with everyone! (Not like his name sake.) He loves people small and large, young and old. His two favorite things to do is to swim and go for car rides.

We took Jesse to the vet and he is very healthy. Neutered, has his shots, microchipped, full blood panel and heartworm negative.

He is located in Vacaville.

If you are interested in making this sweet boy part of your family call Rescue Rep Liz at 415-613-6374 or email liz@jobshopsf.com.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jesse James, a San Francisco Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in San Francisco, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in San Francisco.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Francisco already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Francisco breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Francisco paves the way for another one to be saved.
