My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I’m a medium-haired female Torbi, and my best friend Jenny and I came from a home with 49 cats and 5 dogs! We lucked out when we got a foster home willing to take us both AND our 7 babies. Jenny and I share a bond so close that we nursed each other’s kittens! I’m spayed now, and have been vaccinated and microchipped. I also tested negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline AIDS.

Although I’m shy when I enter a new environment, after a few days I’ll be ready for lots of affection and play. Did I mention I’m only about 1 ½ years old, and I really love to play? Laser lights and interactive feather toys are great, and I have a white rabbit-fur toy I stole from my kittens that I like to carry around with me. But I’ll play with any toy; I’m not fussy! I’m very loving once I’ve settled in, and don’t be surprised when I come begging for your attention. I plan to sleep on your bed at night, if you’ll let me; I hope my purring doesn’t keep you awake! Like my dear friend Jenny, I have never really been held much, but with my foster moms’ help, I’m learning to like it!

I always use my litterbox and am good for having my claws clipped. My favorite things are snoozing with Jenny, playing (preferably with you!), and getting and giving affection. I love to be brushed, and eat both wet and dry food, but prefer the dry. I’d be lonely in a house with no other cats, and really hope to get adopted with my BFF Jenny!

To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and either come to an adoption event or arrange to meet the cat in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
