My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you look up the definition of the name Gizmo, it reads “one who is playful”. Boy did she get the perfect name. If you have been following their story, Gizmo is the youngest of the dogs rescued as part of the Florence Dozen. We are estimating her to be about 2 years and most likely about 1 ½ years old. Her mom, Ziva, was also rescued. She is a coated GSD. We think that makes her so striking! She is not a big girl, but she also is still very much a puppy and will likely put on more weight as she matures. Gizmo is full of energy and can stir things up a bit with other dogs. Gizmo will do best in an active home with a handler who is committed to providing her with the training she has missed out on – she had none in the prior home. She is an adolescent GSD after all, so she craves training and structure. Gizmo can be a little on the bossy side. Some dogs have not been overly excited with her pushy nature, so any home she goes into will need to have a meet and greet to make sure that Gizmo’s energy level will work. She would be best in a home with no cats or older dogs. We would like a home with just one other dog. She has been the youngest of 12 dogs living in a home and we are looking to place her where she can get a lot of personal attention and not have to share her person or fight for attention. She, like all the Florence Dozen, is very engaging with people and is thriving on all the attention she is getting from the SPR volunteers. If you are looking for an INDOOR companion, and would like to open your home and heart to the lovely GIZMO, please fill out our online application to get the approval process started. We will only schedule meet & greets with an approved application on file! Here is the link:
