Teddy's Story...

Teddy came into our rescue in January when his owner passed away unexpectedly. He is a tricolor collie mix, nine years old, weighs 60 lbs. He can be shy at first with strangers, but give him a doggie treat or a hotdog, and he comes around quickly.  Teddy has been an outside dog for most part of his life. He is heartworm tested (negative), is being made up to date on his vaccinations, will soon be neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $100 all inclusive. Buddy is being fostered in Louisville, IL. To adopt him or know more about him, please call/text Laurie on her cell: 618-676-5878 or email us at  furagoodpaws@yahoo.com. An adoption application form is available on our website www.furagoodpaws.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Teddy, a Flora Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie for sale in Flora, or seeking a Collie dog from a breeder in Flora.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Flora already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Flora breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie breeders who help with Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Flora paves the way for another one to be saved.
