My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Penelope, female, dachshund, dob 7/07, contact mcpherson3007@suddenlink.net

PENELOPE…a.k.a “Penny”

(other aliases….Copper Penny, Little Princess, Pretty Penny, Penny-Lope!!!! You get the idea)

“Penny” is a copper colored miniature long haired dachshund. She is one year old. She has been spayed and has all pertinent vaccinations. She is small for her breed and will most likely remain so. Her looks come from her father, who was an absolutely beautiful dog, as well.

Her ideal home would be one with no kids and relatively quiet. She is timid and does not react well to loud or sudden noises. But, she is adorable and, once comfortable, has a great personality all her own.

She is a great lap dog and loves to snuggle close to her owners.

She loves chew toys (sticks and bones), tummy/neck rubs and popcorn @ night on the bed before bedtime!!!!

She is comfortable in a crate at night. Though, we’re sure she wouldn’t turn down her owner’s bed, if offered.

She has not progressed to where she will let you know when she needs to go to the bathroom, but she will go if taken outside regularly. Her key words are “potty” & “outside”. We are currently working to train her in this area.

She is interested in playing with other dogs her size or smaller, but is probably too timid to be with larger dogs of “any kind”. Her experience with our other (larger and more dominant) dachshund has shown Penny's “play style” to be quite well developed, just hidden in all that shyness.

If you want a loving dog such as Penny and feel you can provide her with a calm and loving environment please contact us at: mcpherson3007@suddenlink.net
