Facts about Moxie

  • Breed: Hound (Unknown Type) Mix
  • Color: Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Moxie is a 3 y/o hound mix that was surrendered to the shelter because of her high energy level and it was not a good fit in the home. Moxie is super sweet, but needs a home that will help manager her energy and anxiety. She is house trained, crate trained and knows some basic commands. She can be weary of strangers at first, so she needs a slow and proper introduction. She may be ok with other dogs, but cannot go to a home with cats or small children as the heighten her anxiety level. Moxie would make a great running partner (or hiking partner if she was kept on leash). She is a love bug!

About Harvest Hills Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

Harvest Hills Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization which contracts with nineteen towns in Western Maine to accept neglected , stray and abandoned cats and dogs. These animals are brought in by the towns’ animal control officers. When space is available, Harvest Hills also accepts owner surrendered animals from all surrounding communities in Maine and New Hampshire and will assist other shelters by providing a safe place for adopt able animals that would otherwise be euthanised, or did not fit another shelters admission policies.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Hours are:
10 AM to 3 PM every day except Thursday, with extended hours on Monday and Friday where we are open till 6:00!
We are CLOSED Thursdays and no appointment is needed to come in and meet our animals.

Our Adoption Process...

We have an adoption application that must be completed, and approved by staff. A fee of $80 for cats and $150 for dogs is charged. Since we must do so much more with puppies, they are available for an adoption fee of $225.
