Jax's Story...
Hi there! My name's Jax! I was recently brought to the shelter as a stray. We're not sure what happened to my owners. They're guessing I'm around 5 years old, and am a German Shepherd. I would do best in a home without children and cats. I have been introduced to other large dogs and have done fine.

Prior to being adopted I will be up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and will have a microchip. Now all I need is someone to give me a chance and take me home. The shelter is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10-5, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, and Saturday from 10-2. Come visit!

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jax, a Youngwood German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
