Meet "Miss Riley" a sweet and loving young Rat Terrier mix who is bursting with playful energy! Miss Riley is just a pup at 5 months old and ready to find her forever home. She weighs 14 pounds with long legs, tipped ears and beautified sable markings. Miss Riley gets along great with the other three dogs in the house, but her favorite is her golden retriever foster sister. They play nonstop until they drop! Miss Riley was abandoned at a kill shelter after she was passed off to her second owner. Maybe she was misunderstood due to her lack of hearing. She is completely deaf, but her disability does not hold her back. Miss Riley is ready to please. She enjoys her rope and sneaky toys and runs and plays with the other dogs and children in the house. When tired she is ready to cuddle up with her foster family for rest. Miss Riley is doing great with house training, learning sign language and walking on a leash. A fenced in yard would be ideal since she will never be able to be off leash. Miss Riley would do best in a home that has other dogs and children who are not timid and are ready for for an active and fun loving pup! She is so happy, full of life and grateful to all that show her affection. If you are ready for constant entertainment, companionship and fun then Miss Riley is your girl. About Rat Terrier ResQ - NJ

About Our Rescue Group...

Rat Terrier ResQ is a national all-volunteer Rat Terrier dog rescue group committed to saving Rat Terriers in need. These dogs are special loving creatures and, at times, end up with people who don't understand them. These Rat Terriers may end up in shelters after having been abandoned, neglected or abused. We work to get them safe, loved, and healthy -- and then find them the real forever homes they so rightly deserve.. Learn more about us at our website:

Come Meet Our Pets...

Because all of our dogs are located in a network of foster homes across the U.S. and southern Canada, we do not have a shelter or other public location. Visit our website at http://www.ratterrierresq.comto see all of our available dogs.

Our Adoption Process...

All inquiries about Rat Terrier ResQ dogs need to go through our applications team. We go through a careful process to ensure that this will a permanent, loving relationship.

Your patience and understanding is appreciated throughout the process. Feel free to ask questions and email back and forth as much as you like with the dog's foster parent. You will also receive a phone call from an Applications Coordinator for an interview and a Home Visit Coordinator will be working to set up a Home Visit.

Once you are approved to adopt your new family member, we will send you an adoption contract to read, sign, and send back along with your adoption fee ($150 for adult dogs; $175 for puppies under 6 months). After your contract has been received, we will work with you to arrange transport to get your new family member home to you!
