Facts about Max2

  • Breed: Pug/Chihuahua Mix
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn - With White
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
Max is a handsome 1 yr Chug (Chihuahua/Pug mix); he is current on his vaccinations and has been neutered and has been micro-chipped.  Max is gentle, affectionate and is playful.  This cutie is a very sweet snuggly boy who sleeps in bed with foster mom. He has learned to trust her but took time for that to develop as he is learning to trust humans. He will not be the dog that will jump into your lap and shower you with kisses, but a patient person who is willing to give him time to learn to trust them will be rewarded with a devoted and loyal companion. He is pretty much potty trained if you take him out regularly he will pee outside. If he has access to potty pads inside, then he will use those as well. He is afraid of men, so a male in his life would need to be extra patient. Max would not be a good fit for a home with young children, teens would be okay. Foster mom only works part time and feels he would do best in a home where he isn't left more than 4-5 hours at a time on a regular basis, as he loves human contact with his person. He gets along with other dogs and is good with cats. He is not a barker.  He rides well in the car and is leash trained.  Max loves to be a lap dog.  He  will be a wonderful companion">Adoption Questionnaire

Our Adoption Process...

AFCHS is a non-sheltered humane society organization modeled after some of the more progressive humane societies. We do not believe any home is better than no home, but instead, work to find the right home for each specific animal.
If you are interested in adopting an animal, please fill out and submit the adoption questionnaire or call 209-368-1761 or 209-365-0535. ALL of the fields on the application MUST be filled out or the application will not send, if this happens your time will have been lost. If you are having trouble filling out the on-line application we can email you a copy to fill out. You can also copy the application and paste it into a word document, fill it out and then send it to us at please call us afternoons at 209-368-1761 or 209-365-0535
Filling out a questionnaire is not a commitment to adopt. It does help us determine if the dog or cat you inquire about is suitable for your home and to suggest others not yet on our site.
While we have some dogs and cats at our Sanctuary most of them are in foster care or rescue homes. An application must be completed before an appointment can be set to meet them.
