Hudson's Story...
Hudson is an adorable male Labrador mix who is around 8 years of age. Hudson was handled by the all breed rescue Ark Project as it phased to a german shepherd specific rescue. Hudson has recently found his way back to our care after many years through no fault of his own and is now the yellow sheep of the shepherd pack.

Hudson has a very fun loving personality. Although he is considered a senior he still has plenty of energy and loves to play with toys. Hudson hasn't met a person he doesn't love and is great with new people and children. Hudson gets along great with the other dogs but will often keep to himself if he doesn't want to play. He enjoys spending time playing in the yard with his toys or chewing on a bone. Hudson has been tested with cats with mixed reviews. He did fixate on a kitten but opted to sit and bark at it even on a loose leash. He should mild interest in the adult cats but did follow when one ran by him. He was allowed to follow her on a loose leash and but he quickly lost interest and never showed any signs of harming her. He behaves like he has no idea what to do with a cat but he doesn't show any inclination to hurt them.

Overall Hudson is a sweet friendly and energetic boy who is searching for a family that will love and appreciate him into his golden years.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hudson, a Louisville Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Louisville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Louisville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Louisville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Louisville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Louisville paves the way for another one to be saved.
