Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We do not adopt dogs from phone calls or emails. Please do not fill in adoption forms anywhere else, but on OUR web site. Thanks for that.
To start our adoption process, please fill out our form on our web site at: www.spokanewienerdogs.org and see the Adopt a Dog/Fee page with more details on how we adopt our dogs. There are a lot of questions answered on our web site and personality details below about each dog BELOW so please READ BEFORE getting in touch. We already answer 500+ emails a day. We do answer questions on dogs once our adoption paperwork is filled in so we can match to the right homes.
Please indicate which dog you are interested in on our adoption form. If their name says pending home then they are not available and are on a test drive with a new family. We do remove our dogs when our adoptions are final so please do not ask us if dogs are available if you see their ads.
There is an adoption fee of $200 for this dog.
Daisy came to rescue because she could no longer handle the toddlers in her home. She is mostly dachshund mixed with something and we are not sure what. She is only three so many years left on being your lap dog and not ours.
She will be about 16 pounds or a tweenie sized girl when she loses a few more pounds so she is larger than a mini and smaller than a standard or in between size hence tweenie of 12 to 16 pounds.
Daisy is a very pretty silver dapple and likes people but the kids were too hard on her so she is shy when meeting people. She is warming up quickly here and enjoying life without any small kids in her life. She likes all the dogs and still testing her on cats.
Daisy can be overly protective once she settles into her new life. Daisy is thinking that she has to tell any strangers she is the boss so she will need a dachshund savvy home. This breed needs people to not allow dachshunds to take over when the people should be the alphas in their home and not the dogs. This girl is sweet and not mean, she just has the typical dachshund personality with longer legs than normal.
If you think Daisy might be your new girl please see above on how we start the adoption process and please remember we do not adopt to kids under 7 and we require a fenced yard in town so no apartments, condos or townhouses or trailers in a park without a fully fenced yard as this breed needs to run which is what they were bred to do being hunting dogs.
