Facts about Duke 2016

  • Breed: Pomeranian
  • Color: White
  • Age: Senior
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 9665973-Duke: Dawn

Adoption: $200 (Duke really needs a forever foster home, please contact us if you are interested.)
Weight: 12 lbs.
Age: 10 years
Health: Duke has Cushing's disease, but it is controlled with medication.
Temperament: Duke is a great little dog! He's a senior guy, we're estimating between 8-10 years old. Although you'd never guess his age by the way he acts. He is super friendly and very well socialized!! Duke just loves affection and he's a great little companion, very gentle and loyal. Anyone would be lucky to have Duke in their family!

Favorite Activities: He'll happily go nap by himself, but he loves to stick his head into a dark corner (or another dark quiet place) while napping.

Where did he come from:  He's made quite a trip so far. He started out being saved by Pommy Mommy a FaceBook personality in Las Vegas, who recently moved to Dallas. She brought little Duke with her and asked us to take him in. We of course couldn't resist this cutie! He's very friendly, and just likes to get attention.

Ambitions: Duke has lots of love to give and he is looking for someone who can love him back!

About Recycled Poms and Schipperkes

About Our Rescue Group...

We began in 1998, and have continued to rescue purebred dogs previously used as breeders in Puppy Mills, dogs surrendered by their owners, lost and abandoned dogs on death row at local shelters and a few dogs found roaming the streets. We house, feed, rehabilitate, socialize, seek medical attention for, spay or neuter each dog rescued, but mostly, we give them love.

Please join our cause! We can't do it alone.

We are run entirely by volunteers who give of their time to help find these precious pups their forever homes! Please consider joining us in our fight to find "furever homes" for these pups! We can always use volunteers, FOSTER HOMES!!!!, and donations, including quality dog food, healthy treats (like BULLY STICKS!) belly bands for boy dogs, exercise pens, pee pads, collars, leashes, and Dog shampoo

Our Adoption Process...

Adopting one of our dogs requires that you fill out an adoption application, have your references checked, and let us visit your home.

The required minimum adoption donation is $250. That amount covers the spay/neuter, annual vaccinations, heartworm testing, and one month of heart worm preventative.

We spend about $300.00 just to treat the pommies that are heartworm positive. We have invested more than $1000.00 in several of our pommies--treating them and kenneling them. Kenneling cost $16 a day per dog. We need foster homes!
