Austin's Story...
Austin is a very handsome boy with, we guess, some boxer genes in there somewhere. He is about 3 years old. He's a sturdy guy weighing about 52 pounds. Austin came to us with heartworm disease and mange, but he has completed all his treatments and is a healthy, happy boy who loves toys, and especially a good game of fetch. Austin needs a home with a fenced yard and no cats. He is a friendly, social boy with a great smile.

If you would like to meet Austin, please fill out the adoption application at www.dbcdogs.org

Adoption fee: $150 includes microchip, crate, vaccinations, rabies certificate, neuter, 30 days of pet insurance, and 12 months of training (as needed) after the adoption is complete.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Austin, a Lapeer American Pit Bull Terrier/Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier/Boxer for sale in Lapeer, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier/Boxer dog from a breeder in Lapeer.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lapeer already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lapeer breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier/Boxer breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lapeer paves the way for another one to be saved.
