REX's Info...

I am housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

REX's Story...
Rex comes to us from Tompkins County SPCA in NY. We are told he's a complete sweet heart. He is great with cats, dogs and children. He plays like a typical saint Bernard and Mastiff so please keep this in mind if you have other dogs in the house as it may be rough to them, however he shows absolutely no animal aggression. He was adopted out in March, but returned when being aggressive/apprehensive in regard to male strangers entering the home. His new adopter will need to be understand to the type of care Rex would require, to create a situation where he would not bite the hand of an unannounced male guest whom was not familiar to Rex. The previous adopter returned him when this occurred. The humane officer for the shelter personally endorses Rex and his behavior and feels he would do great with a XXL breed savvy family. If interested in adopting REX, please call 503-383-1457. There are no adoption fees to a good home, however, all applicants must fill out a application and agree to a home check as well as fill out a adoption contract. You can also email saintsrgreat6@gmail.com if interested.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

REX, a Harrisburg Mastiff/St. Bernard dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mastiff/St. Bernard for sale in Harrisburg, or seeking a Mastiff/St. Bernard dog from a breeder in Harrisburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harrisburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harrisburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mastiff/St. Bernard breeders who help with Mastiff/St. Bernard rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harrisburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
