Shadow's Story...
Through no fault of his own, Shadow became homeless. Shadow was rescued from the Bedford Pound by Bedford Humane Society after his owner surrendered him. Shadow gets along with dogs and cats. He is house trained and very sweet boy. He loves to ride in a vehicle and be with his owner. He weighs only 10 pounds at 3 years old. He is in the process of being brought up to date medically so that he can find his forever home.
For more information, please call the Bedford Humane Society at 540-586-6100, or go to www.bhsva.org/adoptions-home.htm to fill out an adoption application. Shadow is in a foster home and cannot be seen at BHS Head Quarters.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shadow, a Bedford Wirehaired Fox Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Wirehaired Fox Terrier for sale in Bedford, or seeking a Wirehaired Fox Terrier dog from a breeder in Bedford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bedford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bedford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Wirehaired Fox Terrier breeders who help with Wirehaired Fox Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bedford paves the way for another one to be saved.
