This is the information that we received from Poppy's current foster:

Poppy is our loving, very gentle adventure dog! We found him back in February 2016, and have been taking care of him in hopes of finding him a FOREVER home. Poppy is a young Lab mix, about 2 years old. He is neutered, vaccinated and we got him micro-chipped as well. Poppy has early stages of heart worms, but is treatable.

Poppy is a great dog - very friendly and social. He loves long walks and going to the dog park. The only downside about Mr. Poppy is he suffers from separation anxiety. We are crate training him but he has managed to learn how to escape from his crate. Poppy just wants to be free and enjoy life. I think he would do best with an owner who has a spacious back yard, and has the time for him...he is definitely not an apartment dog. Poppy is ready to find his home...can you please help us? We can no longer care for him.

He plays very nicely with other dogs! We take him to the dog park at apartment complex. He is 75 lbs, so I feel more comfortable letting him play with the bigger dogs vs small dogs.

I think he would chase cats, not harm them.

We are in our 20's, and do not have children so I am not 100% how he is with kids since the only interaction he has with them has been passing by during walks.

What I do know is that he has never shown any aggression ever towards anyone. On our walks, I have allowed kids to pet him, and he seems to enjoy it. If kids pass on bikes, he pays no attention to them, and just focuses on his walk

Our Adoption Process...

To adopt from us, you'll need to fill out an application on our website at We require a vet reference. Renters must have written permission from their landlords in order to adopt from us.

If your application is approved, we'll come to your home for a visit. This is just to be sure that you live in an environment that is safe for a dog.

After your application has been approved and your home visit has been completed, you're ready to adopt. We require a $165 adoption fee and a signed contract at the time we release the dog to your care. You can change your mind within three days for a refund of your adoption fee. Should you change your mind after the three day period, we will not provide a refund.

If you ever decide to give up guardianship of a dog adopted from us, for any reason, you must return the dog to our care.
