Lucy's Story...

If you're interested in adopting Lucy, please complete our adoption application on our website at www.bloodhoundrescue.ca

Lucy loves to play! She is a very friendly girl, LOVES ATTENTION, mostly loves to play with other dogs. She enjoys giving kisses and does like to be around her people. She does follow you around, will sniff and give kisses when you sit down. Her only bad behavior is counter surfing. She needs correction/redirection a lot! : )
Loud noises do startle her. She goes in her crate willingly when given a treat, does not whine to get out, she usually just goes to sleep.
Lucy came into rescue with severe eye infection that required the removal of the one eye. She did not let this set her back and quickly adapted to her new lifestyle. She is well behaved and will allow you to take toys away from her and takes treats nicely by hand. She travels well in the car.
Lucy is currently in foster care in Michigan. Transportation to her forever home can possibly be arranged.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Simcoe Bloodhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bloodhound for sale in Simcoe, or seeking a Bloodhound dog from a breeder in Simcoe.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Simcoe already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Simcoe breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bloodhound breeders who help with Bloodhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Simcoe paves the way for another one to be saved.
