Facts about Delilah

  • Breed: Papillon
  • Color: Gray/Silver/Salt & Pepper - With White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Unknown
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 10043521-D160129

DOB:   05/20/2005

Weight:  6 pounds

Health:  missing lower jaw

Personality: Scared out of her mind.  She does not bite though.  She will run away from you and clearly doesn't know how to be held.   During bath time, I'm sure she thought I was trying to kill her.  She never had her nails trimmed either.  She was a terrible nasty mess and I cleaned her up the best I could.  This will take time to win her trust and help her become a real dog.  She seems to eat fine on her own.  Dogs are so resilient.  God love her.  She needs someone who will be very patient with her.  This will not be an easy to adopt little girl.

Origin:  Someone dropped her off at the Abilene animal shelter claiming she was as stray.  She acts just like a puppy mill dog.

------Please remember our group is made of only volunteers all of whom have full time jobs, foster fur-kids, and families of their own, so please be patient.---------

About Recycled Poms and Schipperkes

About Our Rescue Group...

We began in 1998, and have continued to rescue purebred dogs previously used as breeders in Puppy Mills, dogs surrendered by their owners, lost and abandoned dogs on death row at local shelters and a few dogs found roaming the streets. We house, feed, rehabilitate, socialize, seek medical attention for, spay or neuter each dog rescued, but mostly, we give them love.

Please join our cause! We can't do it alone.

We are run entirely by volunteers who give of their time to help find these precious pups their forever homes! Please consider joining us in our fight to find "furever homes" for these pups! We can always use volunteers, FOSTER HOMES!!!!, and donations, including quality dog food, healthy treats (like BULLY STICKS!) belly bands for boy dogs, exercise pens, pee pads, collars, leashes, and Dog shampoo

Come Meet Our Pets...

We would love to see you on the

3rd Saturday of each month - 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM

Also, feel free to email us about a prospective pet, and we will put you in touch with their foster home.

Our Adoption Process...

Adopting one of our dogs requires that you fill out an adoption application, have your references checked, and let us visit your home.

The required minimum adoption donation is $250. That amount covers the spay/neuter, annual vaccinations, heartworm testing, and one month of heart worm preventative.

We spend about $300.00 just to treat the pommies that are heartworm positive. We have invested more than $1000.00 in several of our pommies--treating them and kenneling them. Kenneling cost $16 a day per dog. We need foster homes!
