Stormy came to rescue via a “puppy mill” sellout in MO. She is a beautiful dark fawn with a black mask French bulldog. She weighs 26 lbs. Her DOB is 7/25/2011 which makes her almost 5 yrs of age. She has now been spayed, had her nares widened, declaws removed, teeth clean, fully vaccinated including rabies, heartworm negative, receives monthly heartworm preventive and is microchipped. Stormy loves to be the center of attention and plays hard-like a puppy. This can cause some of her older foster furfriends to be cranky with her. She is not aggressive but can/will stand her own if confronted by another dog. She is smart but just doesn’t want to stop playing. She will need a strong family leader to keep her in check if other dogs are in the home. She has polyps in both ears from previous chronic infections, Her ears will require a lifetime of specific care and cleaning. The polyps do not seem to bother her, and as such, it is preferred that any surgical procedure (total ear canal ablation) be avoided as it would likely result in deafness. Stormy MUST have a fenced yard so that she can potty, run and play before settling down for her nap. She is still working on her house manners and her new family will need to let her outside first thing in the morning, several times during the day and right before bed time. She should do fine with children in the home that are 12 yrs old or older IF they have been accustomed to having pets and knows how to treat them. Prior French bulldog experience is a plus and will be given priority. BTRA will do adoptions beyond our usual area of MS, AL, GA, TN and northwest FL. You must provide us the name and contact information for a reputable rescue in your area that is willing to do an on-site home visit for us. The adopting family and the dog must be a perfect fit. We do not ship or otherwise transport our dogs so you have to be willing to travel both ways in case the adoption does not work out. Our dogs cannot be flown if the airline requires them to be in cargo. If you are interested in caring for and loving this gorgeous, sweet and fun loving frenchie, please go to www.btralabama.org and complete an adoption application.
