This is Stella (HWTH#16178A). She is a German Shepherd mix, DOB: 4/24/15. Stella weighs approximately 80 pounds and stands 27 inches at the shoulders. Stella was rescued from the local animal shelter in Lancaster, California by volunteers with Halfway to Home. She is a high-energy girl who will need an owner willing to give her the love, good-quality human companionship, exercise and training necessary to help her live up to her potential as an awesome canine companion. For the right person, she may make a good running partner or work companion or candidate for getting involved in a dog sport. She is very friendly to humans but needs to be introduced to small dogs very slowly because of her rambunctious nature. At the rescue she has shared a large pen with Obie (he is about the same size as Stella) and the two of them have been walked together. When Stella is thoroughly comfortable in her new Forever home, she will benefit from positive basic obedience training to help mostly with the bonding process. Once Stella has bonded with her new owner she will be a loyal canine companion. She is crate trained.

Stella loves to run. I use a golf cart to walk her at the rescue. I go as fast as the cart will go and Stella wants to go faster. Photo 3 shows Stella with her driver. For more information on Stella, please contact Suzanne at tele # 661-824-4495.

About Halfway to Home

About Our Rescue Group...

Halfway To Home was formed in 2001 due to the need in the Antelope Valley to rescue the many homeless, helpless pets. We have animals from individuals who have to give up pets, and from animal shelters that have darling individuals who need to be spared euthanasia. There are puppies coming from individuals who did not spay and neuter in a timely manner. Your tax deductible donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 512 Rosamond, CA 93560 or you can visit us on our web site at www.halfwaytohome.net and make a donation through PayPal.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Come and see us every Saturday & Sunday, rain or shine from 1 to 5 PM at the Westside Palmdale Petsmart, located on 10th Street West, next to Trader Joe's, just south of Rancho Vista Blvd (Avenue P).

We are in need of volunteers to help out at our pet adoptions at PetSmart in west Palmdale on Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm to 5pm. If interested, please visit us during our adoption hours at the west Palmdale PetSmart or call Suzanne at 661-824-4495.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption procedure includes an application to make sure the dog and the people will be a good match, an adoption fee to cover the cost for shots, spaying or neutering, and a home check. Halfway to Home dogs are adopted out to be part of the family, and many of them are housetrained, if not, we ask that you are willing to undertake that task. Our dogs are intended to be indoor/outdoor family members. Doggie doors are a plus.
