Hi, I’m Sophie! I’m a very happy puppy; full of life and energy. My mommy adopted me when I was about two months old. She has made sure I stay healthy and up to date on my shots. Recently she had me spayed; it didn’t slow me down for long.
I love to play and be loved on. Mommy’s been working on crate training me… I gave her a run for her money for a while, but slowly came around. I stay in my crate while mommy is at work and at nighttime when I sleep. For the most part, I have stopped peeing my crate, but I still have accidents when I get excited- after all I am a puppy. I enjoy chewing on toys, and will try to grab other items I’d like to make into a toy, if mommy isn’t looking. Sometimes I’ll find deceased animals in the yard or field to show mommy- she never seems as excited about my deceased findings as I am. I’ve started responding to basic commands, but there’s still learning to be done; sometimes there’s just too much to see and do to stop and listen…

Are you interested in adopting Sophie or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received.
Completed applications can be sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org, faxed to 919-300-5524, or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center).
We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application for Sophie.
