CECILIA - SWEET & UNIQUE!'s Story...
Cecilia was rescued from a local high kill shelter where she had been brought in as a stray. For some odd reason, she was labeled as "mean" and tagged for euthanasia. Furry Friends could never find out who labeled her as such or why, but there is nothing "mean" about her. She is so darn sweet and loving! The shelter she came from has a bit of an issue with euthanizing animals designated as "feral" or mean. They euthanized someone's microchipped pet last year after labeling it as feral and were in the news last week for euthanizing a "mean" dog that was in quarantine for a bite when it got out and was scared. It had a loving home and owner waiting to get it back home and was a well-trained agility dog. So given the source, "mean" didn't mean much to the volunteer that pulled this cat, especially after significant handling elicited nothing but purring and snuggles. Cecilia wasn't crazy about the super highway of kittens when she first came to her foster home, but after just a couple of days she was playing with them. She is totally chill with dogs and older cats and kids. Cecilia is a wonderful cat and vet aged at just a year old. One very cool thing about Cecilia (besides her awesome personality) is her coloring. She is a tortie, but in her foster mom's 10 years of heavy fostering, she has never seen a tortie with Cecilia's coloration. Instead of black and orange which is standard tortie or light grey which is dilute calico, Cecilia is dark grey, similar to a Russian Blue in her solid areas with lighter color sprinkled about. She is a beautiful cat and if you like unique, she's definitely unique. If a super loving, super beautiful, super one-of-a-kind kitty with huge golden eyes fits the bill for your next forever family member, look no further! Cecilia is your girl!
