My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When Rudy's rescuer walked down the aisle of the dismal Texas shelter, she was shocked to see the adorable (and so sweet) Rudy tucked tightly into a cage...his time was up. Farfel's immediately got a call describing how incredibly cute and sweet this Lhasapoo is (as you can see by his wagging tail). We all agreed and Rudy became a very treasured Farfel's dog. He earned a ticket to a wonderful new life in Colorado with his great personality and his kind and positive attitude toward the world.

At just 2.5 - 3 years old and 16 lbs, this beautiful and very loving guy is a blank slate waiting for positive input and guidance to be the best dog he's capable of being. Initially Rudy may be a bit shy...after all, life in a high-kill Texas shelter is very scary. Once he feels that there's love and caring, he's a great lap-dog, avid hiker and a loyal best friend. We'd love to match Rudy to a family that will spend lots of time with this very portable pup. He's a perfect size to accompany his family just about anywhere.

Rudy is a gorgeous guy with the most expressive eyes. Dog-lovers know that Lhasa Apsos/Poodles are a special mix..one of the most hypoallergenic and cuddly. They therefore are opportunistically bred for their great qualities.

When Rudy turns that gentle look in your direction, you can't help but smile at his silly antics and adorable ways. You can see just a touch of a sign that this sweet guy has had difficult times. But not for him to be negative..a smile and a wag is more Rudy's style. It's clear that Rudy has left the pain behind...he couldn't be more joyful once bonded.

Farfel's Rescue is searching for a very loving and involved family for Rudy. He would thrive on the time and attention that he could share. Rudy is a loyal and positive puppy..that makes him very easy to spend time with enjoying the wonders of life in Colorado. He would love long hikes and fun play in the yard with a doggy friend or his favorite people.

Rudy has a hypoallergenic cotton-soft coat that hasn't received the care that is needed. Therefore Rudy's coat was completely shaved. He's already starting to show signs of a beautiful new coat growing in. Rudy will require a commitment to great nutrition and periodic grooming. With this regimen, he will show the beauty of a well cared for and very regal Lhasapoo.

Rudy is currently in a foster home in the Denver area. If interested in a Meet and Greet with this sweet guy who is so full of love and personality, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
