My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This handsome boy is Howard! He is just about the sweetest guy in the whole world! Howard is about 5-6 years old, and he is nice and mellow. He came to us as one of the saddest cases of neglect that we have seen. He was grossly overweight to the point that he could barely get up and walk, and his hair was matted so badly that it took an hour of working on him before we could tell if he was a boy or a girl! He has gone from 102 lbs to 80 lbs, and he can run now! Howard has a chance at a better life and is hoping to have a family that will appreciate him. He is good with kids and all types of other dogs. Howard has tested positive for valley fever, a fungal infection that is common in dogs who have been kept outside in the Southern Arizona desert. It is NOT contagious, and will not shorten his life with proper medication. He will need to take pills twice a day until the infection is completely cleared from his body. That could take a year, or slightly more. Medication is about ~$30/month and his adoption will include 6 months of medication. If you want a gentle, mellow dog, then Howard is the guy for you! His adoption fee is $150 and he is already neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations.
