Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Umi means “Ocean” in Japanese. She’s a tiny 13lb 5 year old female Shiba Inu that lived with a back yard breeder who dropped her off at the vet and asked to have her euthanized. Her owners claimed she killed another one of their smaller breed dogs a bit earlier. But the vets didn’t believe Umi was dangerous, and for the past two months took her home with the vet and observed her spending time with other dogs and cats. The volunteer at DC SIR said Umi was one of THE BEST assessments she has ever had, very friendly through teeth exam, paw handling, and lots of petting! While DC SIR suspects the story of Umi harming another dog is not true, they will still require her to be the only pet in her new home. That doesn’t mean she can’t play with other dogs! She did great with everyone at the shelter and has proven to have great socialization skills!
