Kona's Story...
Look at the smile!

This is Kona - a something-or-other mix :) We think she is a Treeing Tennessee Brindle mix (Adopt a Pet didn't have that as an option but she does look she may have Lab in her too). She is between 1-2 yrs of age and is such an awesome girl. She gets along great with bigger dogs (small dogs seem to give her the heebie-jeebies) and she isn't too sure of cats. She is great with kids :) Summer is here and Kona would love nothing more than to be with her new family! She is SUPER smart and loves to learn new tricks. She is a total social butterfly, too, and loves to be with people.

Kona is heartworm positive but that is no biggie! Heartworm is effectively and easily treated and RDR covers the cost of the full treatment. It is not contagious to humans or dogs and it is only able to be transmitted by mosquito.

Adoption fee $350 includes health exam, microchipping, spay, deworming, up to date vaccines, and 30 days of free health insurance.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kona, a Franklinville Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Franklinville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Franklinville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Franklinville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Franklinville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Franklinville paves the way for another one to be saved.
