Sigmund (Siggy)'s Story...
SIGMUND is a 16 month old, 40 lb, male schnauzer/terrier mix who loves to be with other dogs and is very lovable once he warms up to human companions, but may seem shy at first. He needs to be in a home with another playful dog (or more) to keep him company. Siggy gets along with dogs of all shapes and sizes! He has too much energy to live in an apartment with no yard and can get nervous/into trouble when left alone. Ideal parents would have plenty of time to give and receive affection. He is very sensitive to people's emotions and needs a patient and positive family. True to his name, he loves sitting on the couch! Neutered, microchipped, up to date with all vaccines/medications.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sigmund (Siggy), a Freeport Schnauzer (Standard) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Standard) for sale in Freeport, or seeking a Schnauzer (Standard) dog from a breeder in Freeport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Freeport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Freeport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Standard) breeders who help with Schnauzer (Standard) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Freeport paves the way for another one to be saved.
