My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Andy, a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. At 8 years old, physically, he is a little worse for wear due to lack of care for an early (puppy) condition with the growth plates in his front legs. A little sunburned coat and a few mats do not discourage this beautiful soul from always smiling and running his oscillating tail. Thankfully, his temperament and demeanor are typical for this breed--wonderful! Andy came to Oregon from a shelter in Idaho where he obviously proved to caregivers that he was special. WPG's are gun dogs that are bred for both field and water work. At this time, Andy needs a quiet home where he is not allowed to place too much stress on the joints in his front legs. A pond for swimming or swim therapy would be preferable. The retriever in his DNA will clear a pond of ducks so caution is required. For information on how to adopt Andy, contact salemdogs@aol.com.
