Facts about Skippy Jon Jones

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Orange Or Red
  • Age: Senior
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
This sweet, sweet, gentle-ginger-kitty is so overdue for a forever loving home, and so very deserving of one! Skippy originally came to us back in the summer of 2012 after being abandoned outside. He spent no time at all here at Tree House, charming an adopter very quickly (after all, just look at that face), but sadly this was not the happily ever after he was looking for either. This year he was brought in by a good samaritan, found outside wandering onto a busy street. Luckily, this kind-hearted individual took him in and got him the help he needed here at Tree House. Skippy has a history of some digestive issues, so he is currently on an all wet diet. He may do better in a home that can try out an elimination diet to help remedy this. More than anything though, Skippy would just do better in a loving, caring home where he can live out his senior years in peace.

About Tree House Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

Tree House is a humane organization that promotes the inherent value of every animal and strives to educate the public about proper and responsible animal care, with a focus on the care and placement of stray cats with special physical and emotional needs. We are committed to finding every healthy and treatable animal a home.

Tree House was founded in 1971 and since that time we have expanded and enhanced our programs and services to become the largest, no-kill, cageless shelter for sick, injured, abused and neglected cats in the Chicagoland area. To date we have found homes for nearly 14,000 cats. In addition to our focus on the rehabilitation and adoption of stray cats, we offer many other valuable programs and services, including our Free Spay/Neuter Program, Pet Loss Grief Support Group, Humane Investigations Team, Youth Volunteer Program, Animal-Assisted Therapy, Behavior Hotline, Pet Food Pantry, and Education Outreach Program.

Our Adoption Process...

At Tree House, trained adoption counselors interview prospective adopters to understand their needs, and then adopters are escorted to the Adoption Floor to choose their future friend. Adopters are encouraged to take as much time as they need to find a cat. All adoption applications stay on file for three months so please don't feel that you need to rush to choose a companion cat right away.

Your adoption fee of $85 covers the cost of your cat's care at Tree House including: spay or neuter, deworming, flea treatment, FIV and FeLV testing, AVID microchip, veterinary examination, and all necessary vaccinations. We also give a 30-day health guarantee on all of our adoptions.
