Hey, y'all. My name is James P. Sullivan, but my foster family calls me 'Sulley.' I'm an American Bulldog, you see, and I'm probably around four to five years old; I can't seem to recall my exact birthday. The nice Angels saved me from a shelter in rural Georgia where we dogs don't even have beds to lie on. My foster mommy, or 'Fommy,' as I like to call her, loves Bully breeds, and she says that I am the quintessential American Bulldog. I am big--like BIG; I am gentle; I am friendly; I am intelligent; I am wrinkly; I am pure joy. My favorite activities include: sunbathing, holding the sofa down (otherwise, ya know, it might float away!!), snuggling with Fommy, eating (I was severely emaciated when the Angels took me out of the 'bad place'), and hanging out with those tiny human sorts ('kids,' I think they're called). Tiny humans are so much fun; they're just the best!!!! They scratch my head...rub my back...talk sweetly to me...and give me yummy treats, which I take very gently from their little hands. I don't discriminate, though; I love everyone I meet. It doesn't matter what color they are or what size they are. I guess that's why Fommy asked Angels to name me Sulley--after the character in 'Monsters, Inc.' I look like a scary monster to some people, but I have a heart of gold!!!! I still have a lot of progress to make before I am COMPLETELY perfect. I still have to go through treatment for those icky heartworms; I have to be neutered; my teeth need some work. Aaaand we're working on my house manners. Since I was so hungry for so very long, I have this habit of enjoying food that doesn't belong to me (especially for the tiny humas, hehehe). And sometimes I forget where I'm supposed to go potty (Fommy keeps telling me it's supposed to happen 'outside.') I'm not sure just yet how I feel about the other dogs at Fommy's house. I've just completed my two-week quarantine and will be slowly introduced to the others over the coming days and weeks. Fommy thinks I'd probably be okay with other super mellow dogs like myself, but I do like to chase the kitties. (That's the only time my humans have ever seen me move quickly!)
