Get ready for your heart to melt, because this is one special girl with an incredible story. Sweetbaby has lived a tough life. When Angels Among Us rescued her, she was found crying and freezing with nails an inch long, skin issues, and ear infections. But now that Sweetbaby is an Angel’s dog, she has settled into her foster home and is recovering beautifully from her past. She is now completely healthy and feeling great! Sweetbaby is a precious sweet girl who truly lives up to her name. Sweetbaby has some special needs, as she is blind and a little hard of hearing. She gets around her foster’s home by smelling and gently stepping her way through life. She gets along well with her foster brothers and sisters, which include 3 dogs and a cat. She hears the pitter patter of their feet on the floor and will follow them around the house, and enjoys sleeping next to them on the couch. Sweetbaby is crate trained and housebroken. Amazing for a dog that has been through so much. She curiously makes her way around the yard, bumping the fence but again, so brave. Sweetbaby can get around on her own, but also enjoys having some guidance. Her foster will often leave a thin slip lead on her while she's in the house, and once she knows that you are there, she will gently follow you wherever you take her. Sweetbaby also rides well in the car and likes to go for rides. She is not your typical senior dog. She is true to her working dog breed, and loves being outdoors in the safety of a smaller fenced in yard, 'working' by circling as a herding dog does. She also enjoys going for leisurely and brief walks around the neighborhood, and very much enjoys her naps! She sleeps through the night in her crate, but will cry and let her humans know when she needs to go outside. She has gotten used to her schedule, and when she knows that it is time to eat soon, she will often excitedly go right to her crate and wait for her meal. She loves treats and after walks is satisfied with staying in the crate chewing on a kong, or lounging around the house. She has come a long way since being rescued on that lonely, cold, and dark road. Please give this gentle, loving girl a chance and she will love you unconditionally forever. She is looking for a quiet, loving home, where she can feel safe, and get lots of love and snuggles. Despite her special needs, she is actually a very easy dog to care for and she fit right into her foster home. As she has gotten more comfortable with her foster mom and dad, she trusts more and more, and has shown her sweet personality. She warms up to new people fairly quickly and also thinks that she is a lap dog sometimes! She leans into her humans and gives the best hugs. She also knows her name, and will come when called, following the sound of your voice and wagging her tail. **No small kids. While Sweetbaby is gentle and loving, and does not have a mean or aggressive bone in her body, small children might be too much for her with her special needs. Sweetbaby weighs 47 lbs., is around 7-8 years old and is an Australian Kelpie/Border Collie mix. Make a donation in this dog's name at http://www.angelsrescue.org/donate. Come Meet Our Pets...

Our animals are in our network of foster homes. We do not have a shelter. Please go to www.facebook.com/angelsrescue/events to see our schedule of adoption events, or email inquiry@angelsrescue.org if you are interested in a specific dog.

Our Adoption Process...

The first step in adopting or meeting any of our dogs is to fill out an adoption application on www.angelsrescue.org.
Your application will be assigned to someone in our organization that will review it and contact you to discuss it. Please allow us at least 3 business days to contact you. We require a meet and greet with your current dogs (if applicable) and all family members (if possible) and a home check.
