Lovely Miss Phoebe is a very sweet senior lady, and she has such a sad story. She and her human mommy were best friends and she had such a wonderful life. Then one day all that changed. Her mom became very ill and had to go to the hospital. She passed away while there, and instantly Phoebe found herself homeless. No one in the family wanted her or was able to take her. PAWS opened their doors to her, but she says it just isn't like a real home. She is treated very well by the staff, she gets three squares a day, and the building is temperature controlled, so she is always comfy---but she would love to become part of a family again. She is a beautiful Domestic Medium Haired cat, and she was born around April, of 2007. How about opening up your heart and home to this lovely lady and giving her a home once again! You will love her, and she will adore you and be forever grateful!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Pets Are Worth Saving,Inc. (PAWS) is a not-for-profit, no-kill animal welfare organization. PAWS was founded as a means of dealing with the increase in the animal population--specifically dogs and cats--in the Union County(Illinois) area. PAWS was formed primarily to prevent the destruction of valuable, adoptable animals. PAWS is solely funded by donations and fund raisers. PAWS rescues and makes available for adoption homeless and unwanted animals.

Our Adoption Process...

Dogs: The adoption fee for PAWS' puppies and dogs is $200. Occasionally, the adoption fee will be higher and, if that is the case, it will be noted on the animal's profile. When you adopt your new dog or puppy, it will be spayed or neutered, wormed, micro-chipped, and up to date on its shots, with the exception of its rabies shot, which must be given by a vet. If it is six months or older, it will have been tested for heartworms and placed on a heartworm preventative.

Cats: The adoption fee for all PAWS' kittens and cats is $75. When you adopt your new cat or kitten, it will be spayed or neutered, wormed, micro-chipped, and up to date on its shots, with the exception of its rabies shot, which must be given by a vet. IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO ADOPT A CAT OR KITTEN, BE SURE TO BRING A CARRIER OR PET TAXI WITH YOU. WE CANNOT SEND A CAT/KITTEN HOME UNLESS IT IS IN A CARRIER/PET TAXI.

We certainly recommend that you continue your pet's routine vaccination regimen with your veterinarian.

SAME DAY ADOPTIONS ARE NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE, SO IF YOU ARE DRIVING FROM A DISTANCE, PLEASE MAKE ADVANCE ARRANGEMENTS.

IF YOU RENT, YOU MUST BRING A SIGNED RENTAL AGREEMENT FROM YOUR LANDLORD STATING THAT IT IS OKAY FOR YOU TO HAVE AN ANIMAL IN THE HOUSE. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A RENTAL AGREEMENT, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE THE COMPANION ANIMAL OF YOUR CHOICE HOME WITH YOU.

OUT OF STATE ADOPTERS ARE ASKED TO PAY THE ADOPTION FEE IN CASH.

PAWS IS NOT EQUIPPED TO TAKE DEBIT OR CREDIT CARDS.
