Fender is a 2yo neutered male Chihuahua! He was found abandoned in a parking lot in Los Angeles and is in NYC ready to start a new life!
Once Fender warms up to you, he loves to follow his people around everywhere they go and sleep on laps. He loves a good belly scratch and curling up in a ball and burrowing in some blankets for lots of naps! He's great in a carrier and is super quiet - never barks and only cries a little bit if he gets anxious or wants to go out. Fender is just about the sweetest and shyest little dog you'll meet!
Weighing a little under 10 pounds, he does get very nervous around strangers, loud noises, and other dogs he meets on the street, but he just shakes quietly and wants to avoid conflict, and can be quickly comforted by the people he trusts and with a good head scratch. Fender's ideal home would involve no young children, and an owner who has the patience to help Fender slowly warm up and get comfortable with his new surroundings. He's housebroken to outside but not pee-pad trained.
Fender is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.
Fender was rescued in LA as part of our Waggy West rescue mission to bring At Risk dogs, one by one to NYC for adoption! We are always looking for volunteer chaperones to bring at risk dogs like him with them on their next LA-NYC flight, we pay the dog's ticket and provide a carrier! Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help!
