Bailey's Story...
Hi! My name is Bailey, and I am the most loyal, loving dog around! I am a 4 ½ year old male lab/pit mix weighing about 55 lbs. I love to go on long walks and hikes. My favorite thing in the world is to be petted! We can do this for hours! I prefer being indoors with my family but also love to run around in a fenced in backyard. I get along with other dogs but am not a fan of cats. I do well with older kids who I can run around and play with. I am up to date on all my shots and have been neutered. I can’t wait to meet you!

We recommend and encourage you to complete an application at http://henricohumane.org/adopt/application-for-dogs/ before coming to our next adoption event. To find out if I will be attending our next adoption event, please email dogs@henricohumane.org.

Adoption events are every Saturday, excluding holidays, at the Petco located at 11331 W. Broad Street, Glen Allen, VA (next to Trader Joe’s) from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bailey, a Richmond Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
