Winston's Story...
Hey There Potential Forever Family! My name is Winston. My foster mom named me Winston for two reasons: 1.) I have a prominent “W” marking on my forehead and 2.) She said, “He just looks like a Winston!” So, there you go! Along with my 6-month old mother (Harper - she's already been adopted!) and my brother (Jonesy), a good samaritan rescued us from the streets, providing food, warmth, and medical care, when we needed it most. We were then taken in by PetPromise and placed with our foster family soon after, where we were nurtured and loved! I’ve also been neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped! Now I'm just waiting for my forever family to find my brother and me!

I’m a male tabby, with exotic facial markings and taupe eyes, that make me look a little like a cheetah! Although I may look a like a cheetah, I’m an affectionate and loving kitty! I like to plop down next to your lap or curl up by your side and purr....once I’ve tuckered myself out from playing. I like to have my belly rubbed and my head scratched. I’m a little more docile, but can wrestle and run with the best of them! My brother Jonesy and I love to run and play, but we power-down for a nap once we’ve worn ourselves out. I love all kinds of cat toys and I enjoy sitting in my cat tree! Did I mention that I get along great with the resident cats in my foster home too? If you’re interested in adopting more than one cat, my brother Jonesy and I are thick as thieves and would love to be adopted together! We keep each other entertained and we get lots of exercise running and playing together! We like to snuggle together too! I’m a happy little guy, who’s looking for the perfect family for my brother and me! If that’s you, then quick like a cheetah, fill out an adoption application for us today!

PETPROMISE DOES NOT HAVE A SHELTER. Our pets are housed in volunteer foster homes while awaiting adoption. We do our best to ensure that all of the PetPromise pets and their new owners are the perfect match. For that reason the adoption process may take several days to complete and includes a mandatory home visit. We do our best to ensure that the adoption of the pet is "for life."

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Winston, a Columbus Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Columbus, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Columbus.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbus already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbus breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbus paves the way for another one to be saved.
