My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Blessing was picked up on Mooresville Hwy on 5/31/16. A couple had contacted the shelter that she had been running in the area for at least 2 weeks. They put food and water out for her as she is underweight. And by her appearance she has been on her own for a while. She is very sweet and friendly with the shelter staff and was good with the finder's dog at her house. She is already spayed as she has a tattoo showing she has been on her belly. She is fully vetted but she is heartworm positive also. We are treating her with a slow kill heartworm method. She does get along with the other dogs but if she feels at all threatened she will stand up for herself. Very smart and responds to food to get her motivated for anything. She will go after a cat in a heartbeat so a no cat home is a must.

The current adoption fee is $125 which includes the dogs spay or neuter and Rabies vaccination at a local vet, and covers the distemper/parvo vaccine and bordetella vaccine and dewormings it receives here at our shelter.

After you have brought proof of your dogs spay/neuter back to the shelter $50 of that adoption fee will be returned to you, or you may choose to donate it so that another dog can be spayed or neutered at our shelter.

By TN state law stray dogs are held for 3 days so they can be found by their owners before being put up for adoption or rescue. A dog found as a stray wearing a collar is held for 5 days before it is put up for adoption or rescue. Our shelter is a first come first adopt/rescue facility. There are no holds placed on dogs for potential adopters/rescue. They are available at 7am on the day they are available and must be picked up and paid for at that date/time. An adopter or rescue cannot call and hold a dog to be picked up at a later date. It is available to the public until it walks out the door.
