Renner is a truly heartbreaking case of animal abuse that is found even in our small community. This poor boy was found in the Linden Ave. area one evening and due to the fact that our facility was closed, he was tied outside and left by himself. By a stroke of luck, one of our wardens was called out that night on a separate case and discovered Renner at 3:00am. As you can see in these photos, he has suffered a terrible trauma to his face. On his first day with us, his muzzle was so swollen and infected that he could not even eat the canned chicken our volunteers were attempting to hand feed him. After several vet visits, Renner is on the mend. What caused all of this trauma to Renner? If you look closely, you can see a scar / line around his mouth where his muzzle had been taped or wired shut. This abuse of an animal is unacceptable. We ask our community to be vigilant if they witness this practice or any other abuse to animals in our community. If anyone has any additional information regarding Renner's specific case, please contact the Dog Warden's office at 740-453-0273.

Renner is a large boy who is extremely strong but seems to have a sweet disposition. He has been trained to sit and lay down, but does not walk well on a leash. At this time, we do not know how he is with other dogs, cats, or children. If you love pits like we do and are experienced with handling such a large boy, please consider showing him what a loving home really means!

Renner is available to a reputable animal rescue only. If you are interested in pulling him, please contact our warden's office.
