My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sophie is an old (and tough) lady that, as far as we know, lived for a long time as a lonely stray. She was picked up by animal control and we first met her at the city shelter. She was a sad, scared, pathetic sight. We felt so sorry for her and decided to take her in right then and there. Lucky for Sophie, she went straight into a foster home so she could learn how to be loved and cared for again or, maybe, for the first time.

At her vet visit, we learned quite a bit about poor Sophie. She is missing most of her teeth, having had many of them pulled at the vet, and her mouth is full of bacterial infection. The infection was so severe that it had moved up into her sinuses. Sophie had to be placed on antibiotics. Because she has missing teeth, she isn't able to pull her tongue all the way into her mouth. It hangs out and its dry and hard. In spite of what she has had to deal with for possibly a very long time, Sophie has the most calm, sweet, and trusting spirit. She loves people. She also has become very fond of chicken meals! Sophie deserves the best...never having to fear the loneliness and sickness she has endured before. Give her a happy ending!
