Lanie's Story...
Lanie was turned into our overnight dropbox on 3/9. She was in critical condition and needed immediate medical attention. Lanie had horrible demodex mange, skin infections, was under weight, and her poor skin was cracked and bleeding. By 5/14 she had healed completely and was a totally different dog than the one that was abandoned. Lanie has been in foster care and is crate trained, house broken, and great with other animals. Lanie is now looking for her forever home. She had rough start at life and is ready to love again. Will you be her new best friend? Shelter phone 423-743-3071. Shelter hours: Mon.to Sat 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Closed on Sunday. We need Volunteers at the shelter for everything from office work, photos, enrichment programs such as walking dogs, playing with cats etc. Contact the shelter for more information.

Act quickly to adopt Lanie. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lanie, a Erwin Husky/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Husky/Labrador Retriever for sale in Erwin, or seeking a Husky/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Erwin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Erwin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Erwin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Husky/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Husky/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Erwin paves the way for another one to be saved.
