Facts about Abbie

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix
  • Color: Black
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Abbie is the sweetest ever 5 year old girl. This sweet girl came from a deplorable hoarding situation and is now in a great Lucky Lab foster home and is thriving. She came to us heartworm positive, but has been treated and doing well. Abby is a pretty little girl weighing about 55 lbs. She is very sweet and timid initially and uncertain of strangers. Once she knows you’re trustworthy she warms up nicely, and her quirky and good-natured personality really begins to shine. She is very loving, loyal, loves to be near her people (expect to have a little shadow), to snuggle, and to have her ears rubbed. Abbie is a low energy girl, good with other dogs, good with cats, good recall, house trained and crate trained. She deserves a special family who will understand her needs and be patient with her as she learns to trust and feel safe and at home in a new place. She would benefit from a quieter home, as she is easily startled, and one where she can have plenty of time with her person getting lots of love and affection. Abbie is spayed, heartworm free, up to date on vaccinations including rabies and micro-chipped. If you are looking for a sweet loving addition to your family, please go to our website,, complete an online applications and indicate 'Abbie' in the notes section. She is available in the Midwest and in New England.

About Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption - IN

About Our Rescue Group...

Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption is an all-volunteer, non-profit (currently filing for 501(c)(3) status) rescue organization whose mission is to reduce the euthanasia rates and inhumane treatment of Labrador Retrievers in the Midwest and find loving forever homes for them.

Most labs that come into Lucky Lab Rescue are from shelters here in the Midwest. Most are at risk of euthanasia, usually due to overcrowded shelters. Labs are one of the most popular breeds of dogs due to their loyal and family oriented personalities. Labs are also one of the most overbred breeds and are the number one breed to be found in shelters. They also have one of the highest euthanasia rates. Some find it difficult that rescues can be breed specific, however, Lucky Lab Rescue and other lab rescues make a huge impact on euthanasia rates just by rescuing labs and lab mixes alone.

Our Adoption Process...

Potiential adopters must fill out an application and a Lucky Lab representative will follow up with both a phone and home interview. Our adoption includes all vaccination, microchip, spay or neuter and a heartworm test. Provide additional medical treatments if needed.
