Meet Cacao!

Another lucky dog who has traveled far and wide from the Iran's Vafa Animal Shelter in search of his forever home. He is currently being fostered in Rockville, MD/ Washington DC area. Like many of the dogs back in Iran, Cacao’s life didn’t start out easy, but we are all hopeful for a happy ending.

Cacao had been confiscated, along with multiple other dogs, from their original owners and jailed, and with much effort, and negotiations between the shelter and the authorities, he was released to us. As you can imagine he became very shy and skittish, but with a little TLC he is slowly learning to trust again.

Cacao is approx. 3.5 years old, about 20 pounds; crate trained, and is getting the hang of potty training. He is no longer having accidents in the house, but he does need a little patience when being taken outside, as finding the perfect spot can sometimes be a challenge.

This gentle boy is still overcoming a lot so he can be timid and nervous in new environments, but he will never snap or growl. He is not hyper active nor does he bark much; although he is a fairly quiet, solitary dog he has begun to play nicely with his foster dogs. He is still timid around humans but we believe with a patient pet parent willing to love and take the time to build trust in Cacao you will have found a best friend for life.
